Ainsley Wintertide, a young magician, lived in New Salem and attended a preschool. Surrounded by her peers, she learned about different spell affinities and fields of magic. She made friends and enjoyed playing witch-hunt with them during recess. At the end of the year, she graduated and said goodbye to all her friends.
She moved to Earth and found that she couldn’t relate to anyone at school. Just as she was about to get used to her life, her family moved back to New Salem. Expecting to feel right at home, Ainsley was instead enrolled in a remedial course due to her lack of magic training and was bullied. Ainsley moved again to Earth and she became depressed. Thankfully, her family and a classmate consoled her, and she learned that it was okay if people didn’t like her, and that with time she would become brave enough to be herself, even if no one could relate.
With her motivation boosted, Ainsley took her education more seriously and her grades drastically improved. She also asked her parents for magic textbooks to practice spells on her own. And she even learned about the Internet, a bit of programming, and anime. By the time she returned to New Salem she climbed to the top of her class and was competent enough to design her own staff.
