Kurtis Yates is the werewolf guardian of Onyx Cliff. He is a supporting character in The Onset of Winter.
The Onset of Winter
Kurtis requested aid from the New Salem to deal with a local issue, and they sent soldiers, food, and supplies. Among the soldiers was Graham Wintertide, and he educated him, his family, and the other newcomers about the secrecy rule.
Personality and traits
Kurtis is magnanimous, open-hearted, and welcoming. He is also keen-witted and can carry conversations for hours. When visitors arrive to his community, he likes to have interviews with them to get a sense of their personalities and whether they’ll cause any trouble. He especially likes gifts of alcohol, cigars, and meat.
Magical abilities and skills
- Enhanced Smell: With his keen sense of smell, Kurtis can detect track and identify targets as well as sense emotions. He uses this when greeting newcomers to his area to see if they are trustworthy.
- Hairdressing: As a barber, Kurtis knows how to cut, color, and style hair.
- Lie Detection: Kurtis can use his sense of smell and instincts to tell when people lie.
- Transformation: As with all werewolves, Kurtis can transform into a bigger wolf form.
