Perception
Perception is the ability to see and interact with fantasy creatures (excluding beings that have near-human appearances) and magical entities. All fantasy creatures and magicians have some level of perception. Perception functions similarly to Insight from Bloodborne.
With sufficient perception, a person can:
- See and visit magical places such as Oak Shade
- See fantasy creatures such as Aislinn
- Sense traces of magic
- Passively attract the attention of fantasy creatures
Gaining perception
A person can gain perception by:
- Being introduced to an aspect of fantasy or magic by someone acquainted with it
- Using certain items such as special potions or amulets
- Entering certain areas
Losing perception
All fantasy creatures and magicians have some minimum level of perception. While perception can be lost, they will never completely lose it. On the other hand, non-magicians can completely lose the ability to perceive. This often leads to situations where people believe they were hallucinating.
Perception is lost by:
- Memory loss
- Certain creatures taking or stealing it from you
- Using certain items such as wishing stones
- Exiting certain areas
