Ciarán Thunderheart was the corrupt head of New Salem’s police department and the main antagonist in The Staunch Hawthorn. He has an uncanny ability to uncover the truth and capture criminals efficiently.
After years of mistreatment, the desire to destroy the New Salem rose within him. He wanted to destabilize the barrier protecting the city, but wasn’t sure how until he caught wind of a security incident in Oak Shade Station. He learned that Ainsley, the niece of the person in charge of the barrier was traveling to the city, and used his criminal connections to kidnap her.
He successfully used Ainsley as leverage to access the barrier security room. A battle ensued between him, Aislinn, and Nashwa, but before his defeat he managed to destroy the barrier.
Ciarán thinks highly of himself and his skills. He has no qualms about twisting facts to achieve his own goals. Ciarán is an aggressive interrogator who is able to find sufficient evidence to convict whomever he pleases.
He knows just what to say to convince anyone to follow his thoughts. And when things don’t go his way, he is quick to blame others.
