Francine Lumiere is a member of the Children of the Island. She played a role in changing the public’s opinion on the Reinhyl Public Health Institute’s travel ban to the mysterious island.
History
Francine used to be someone in the public eye. With people holding high expectations of her, she lived her life without much privacy. She longed to be able to go anywhere without the paparazzi following her or do anything without being scrutinized.
As with nearly all new recruits, she experienced a dream of a person in a temple on an island promising to lead her to a life where she could be a normal person. Although doubtful, she was convinced through multiple dreams, and she finally accepted her offer when she was brought to the island by Isabel Salvador.
Counterculture
With Isabel Salvador‘s ability to traverse long distances, the Children of the Island aggressively expanded their influence into the mainland, establishing a hideout and recruiting new members. With her team, she and the recruits successfully shifted the public opinion to become more positive towards the mysterious island, planting the idea in peoples’ minds to travel there.
Aiming to get the Reinhyl Public Health Institute to repeal their travel ban to the mysterious island, she assisted her team by sneaking them into locations undetected, but eventually was thwarted by Sumire Yanagi and forced to withdraw.
Personality and traits
On the surface, Francine appears quiet and confident, but on the inside she is stressed and anxious. Living on the island is slowly undoing her high-strung personality, making her timid and sensitive nature clearer. Though she may not have the right words at times, she easily sympathizes with her comrades.
Abilities and skills
Invisibility: Francine is able to make herself and others invisible to the naked eye. She finds this ability easier to use if she or her targets aren’t moving. Francine must wait 30 minutes between each use of this ability.
The ability only hides her from normal vision. It doesn’t protect her from alternate forms of detection such as infrared cameras, ultrasonic waves, being splashed with liquids, etc. It also doesn’t prevent her from colliding with objects.
